Ryan Farquhar after his Solo Championship win at the Southern 100 |
Ryan Farquhar won Thursday's Southern 100 Solo Championship race in the Isle of Man, which was run over two parts, after Michael Dunlop crashed. The first part of the race was halted after four laps following Dunlop's crash and the rider was taken to hospital for a precautionary check-up. Dunlop had earlier won the day's Supersport 600 race from his brother William, Farquhar and Cameron Donald. William Dunlop took a 125/250 double and Farquhar won the Supertwins class. Farquhar finished ahead of Donald in the two-part Solo Championship event. Over the course of the week, Michael Dunlop won the Superbike event and both 600cc races. His brother William won all four two-stroke races - two 125cc victories and two 250cc successes. Farquhar enjoyed four wins, taking the chequered flag in the Solo Championship feature event, both Supertwins races and a Superbike race. Austrian Klaus Klaffenbock and Manx passenger Dan Sayle won the first sidecar race of the meeting.
