The Southern 100 Marshals Association is holding an open day in Castletown to recruit marshals to the Billown course. The course is home to the Pre-TT Classic, Post-TT and the Southern 100 Road Race meetings. Chief marshal Willy Clucas said: "Without marshals, there would be no racing, so we would welcome anyone who has an interest. "The day has been designed to give people the chance to see what being a marshal is all about," he added. The event will be held at the club's headquarters on Castletown by-pass between 1000 and 1600 BST. The Southern 100 will celebrate its 55th anniversary in 2010 and gets under way at Billown on Monday 12 July.
