Adams was top scorer for the Robins on Thursday |
Swindon notched up their best win of the season, beating Eastbourne in the Elite League at the Abbey Stadium. Robins captain Leigh Adams top scored with 14 points but received strong support from the rest of the team. Mads Korneliussen, Grzegorz Zengota and Simon Stead all amassed paid 11-point scores for the Robins on Thursday. And Robins manager Ronnie Russell told BBC Wiltshire: "I hope that makes people realise we're serious about making the play-offs." The rest of the Swindon team also played their part with Morten Risager picking up paid eight, the same as Thomas H Jonasson. Cory Gathercole (paid four) was involved in a collision in heat two which forced Eastbourne's Ricky Kling to withdraw due to concussion. "We're getting some distance now from the teams below us," added Russell. "We're now having a surge and trying to catch the ones ahead of us."
