 McGuinness lap record stands at 131.578mph |
John McGuinness lapped the Mountain Course at over 130 mph in bright sunshine on Wednesday to move top of the Isle of Man TT practice times. McGuinness sped to a 129.265mph lap from a standing start before stamping his authority with a 130.242 mph lap on his HM Plant Honda Superbike. The Morecambe man completed the 37.75 mile course in 17 minutes 22.89 seconds just 10 seconds off his own lap record. Tuesday's pace setter Ian Hutchinson and Guy Martin both went over 129mph. Conor Cummins was the quickest Manxman with a 127.010mph lap. Meanwhile, Michael Dunlop still leads the Supersport timesheets after recording a 125.087mph lap with Hutchinson hot on his heels. Ryan Farquhar topped the Superstock times with a 128.076mph lap. Elsewhere, Dave Molyneux and Patrick Farrance upped the pace in the sidecars with a 114.748 mph lap.
