Stoke Potters have confirmed that Adam Roynon broke his right ankle in the 55-38 defeat at Newcastle on Sunday. Roynon collided with Newcastle rider Derek Sneddon in heat 10, and team manager Malcolm Vasey had the extent of the injury confirmed on Monday morning. "We are desperately sorry to hear the news and we wish him a speedy recovery," said Vasey. Meanwhile, Jason Bunyan has been cleared to ride at Somerset on Friday after two months out injured. The Stoke skipper suffered knee ligament damage in the victory over Sheffield on 10 April. "I'm delighted to have Jason back in the side," said promoter Dave Tattum. "He's influential, both on and off the track, and has been sorely missed by the club." Bunyan's return is a huge boost for Stoke, who are also waiting for an update on the hand injury which forced teenager Taylor Poole out during the second heat at Newcastle.
