Plymouth got their league campaign off to a good start with Friday night's 59-35 win at home to Buxton.

The Devils put in strong performances across the team, Seemond Stephens, Mark Simmonds, Paul Starke and Jamie Pickard all breaking 10 points.

Both Stephens and Simmonds were also unbeaten by a Buxton opponent in their nine rides.

Buxton's top scorer was Robert Branford with 13, while Charles Wright picked up eight points for the visitors.


Plymouth: Mark Simmonds 11+1 (4 rides), Lee Smethills 5+2 (4), Paul Starke 11 (5), Matt Wright 2+1 (3), Seemond Stephens 15 (5). Reserves: Dan Berwick 3 (4), Jaimie Pickard 12+1 (5).

Buxton: Jake Anderson 1 (4), James McBain (rider replacement), Lewis Dallaway 2+1 (5), Charles Wright 9 (4), Adam Allott 2 (4). Reserves: Nick Morris 8+2 (7), Robert Branford 13+1 (6).
