The Devils will test out their new signings on Friday night |
Plymouth Devils will have their three new signings making their debuts in Friday's match against a USA Dream Team at the St Boniface Arena. Lee Smethills, who rode for Buxton and Weymouth last season, forms a powerful partnership with former Exeter team-mate Mark Simmonds. There is also a new pairing in the middle with Matt Wright linking up with Paul Starke. Skipper Seemond Stephens reverts to the number five spot. Seemond will be partnered by reserves Jamie Pickard and Dan Berwick, a 23-year-old who has been signed from the Isle of Wight. The Americans retain four of the side who provided some highly entertaining racing on their previous visit to the St Boniface Arena last October. Skipper Eddie Castro, who is 50, returns along with fellow Californians Kenny Ingalls and Tyson Burmeister. Teenager Gino Manzares, who rode at reserve last time around, is promoted to the main body of the team, which is completed by Tim Gomez, Josh Abbott and 15-year-old Austin Novratil.
