Redding was second fastest at testing in Jerez earlier this year.
Scott Redding hopes he can put some technical issues behind him and take his practice form into this weekend's Moto2 race at Jerez in Spain.
The 17-year-old finished outside the points for his Marc VDS team at the opening round of the season in Qatar.
"We can trust the engine 110 percent, I know with the mechanics in the team the bike will be on form every time I go out," Redding told BBC Gloucestershire.
"It's just getting the fine tuning part for that last few tenths."
Redding, from Quedgeley, is suffering from 'chatter' on his bike, which causes it to shake, but admits he and his team are still trying to find out what is causing the problem.
The team have tried using a new chassis on the bike, but are no closer to identifying if the root cause is that, or the clutch, tyres or wheels.
However, Redding is hoping that racing on a track which he has already tested successfully this year will bring about an improved result at the finish.
"Top ten is good, top five is phenomenal," he said, looking at where he would like to be at the end of the race.
"At the testing we were second over three days."
"We definitely can go well there - we know it - it's just getting it right on the day."
