An improved performance from Ipswich Witches was not quite enough to see off Poole Pirates at Foxhall Stadium after the Elite League leaders won 46-44. Pirates rider Davey Watt held off the challenge of Ipswich's Scott Nicholls in the final heat. Swedish rider Linus Sundstrom top scored for Ipswich with 12+1. The Witches - who were back at full strength after recent travel problems - return to action at Peterborough Panthers on Friday, 30 April.
