Cummins claimed two podium finishes at the 2009 TT races |
Conor Cummins claimed another fourth-place finish in the second round of the BSB Superstock 1000 Championship held at Thruxton in Hampshire on Sunday. The Isle of Man rider was in contention for the win throughout and crossed the line less than a second adrift of winner Steve Plater. "It was another solid result and hopefully the top step of the podium isn't too far away," he said. Howie Mainwaring finished second, with Ian Hutchinson third. The result sees Cummins move into third in the overall standings behind Plater and Mainwaring. The third round will be held at Oulton Park in Cheshire on 1-3 May. Meanwhile, fellow Manxman Dan Kneen gave another storming performance to finish first in the British Supersport Cup and 11th in the overall Supersport race. The result gives the 22-year-old a four-point advantage over David Jones in the Cup standings.
