Topinka was the best performer for the Stars

A 15-point paid maximum from captain Tomas Topinka helped King's Lynn Stars to Premier Trophy victory over Newport Wasps at the Norfolk Arena.

They used home advantage to reap revenge after their defeat away from home 10 days ago.

"The team is starting to come together nicely and I think tonight was evidence of that," said team manager Rob Lyon.

Darren Mallet replaced Ricky Wallace for the Stars after the Australian failed to score last time out.

There are just a few days for the riders to get prepared for their next fixture away to Rye House Rockets.

"We go to Rye House on Saturday looking to pick up more points and if we can do that we stand a good chance of making the semi-finals," said Lyon.
