Larsen scored a 15 point maximum in the win against Redcar

Newcastle Diamonds boss George English has praised the impact of rider Kenni Larsen in Thursday's 46-44 challenge win against Redcar Bears.

Denmark rider Larsen rode a 15-point maximum, with compatriot Rene Back picking up 11 in a tightly-fought encounter on Teesside.

"Kenni was simply untouchable tonight," English said.

"Winning down here at Redcar gives us a feeling of satisfaction and we did it in style."

English added: "The rest, although not ripping trees up, were there with vital points when they needed to."
