Eastbourne promoter Bob Dugard is in talks with a potential candidate to take over the running of the club when he steps down in the next few weeks.
He told BBC Sussex that he has also received pledges of almost £20,000 to help the running costs for next season.
Mike Bellerby, who is retiring from the civil service, is being lined up as a possible replacement for Dugard.
The team plan to set up a members club, where people can join and pledge cash towards their day-to-day running.
"Mike Bellerby is perfectly willing to step in and do the majority of things I used to do in the administration side, so that's worked out perfectly," Dugard said.
"We're having a meeting early next week but all the parameters have been agreed so I'm pretty confident that will all work out."
