Plater has had a fine season |
Lincolnshire's Steve Plater has described winning the British Supersport Championship as "mega". The 37-year-old claimed victory in the final race of the season at Oulton Park on Sunday to clinch the title from Billy McConnell by 36 points. "It's mega to put the championship to bed and it's a big relief as for the last four or five rounds it's been closely fought," he said. "It's mega for HM Plant Honda and mega for me, all my family and the fans." "It's also great for all the people who have been ringing and texting me this last few weeks. To say I am pleased is an understatement." Plater also won the North West 200 and the Isle of Man Senior TT this season.
