Peter Lloyd and co-driver Nicky Grist took first place in the Jersey car rally after two days of racing through the islands' lanes.

Steve Leonard, in his Ford Escort MK2, was the highest placed Jersey driver in fourth overall.

"He [Leonard] had a great result coming in fourth overall and winning his class," said Richard Buchanan of the Jersey Motorcycle and Light Car Club.

"He has no sponsorship and his car isn't in the league of the cars ahead of him.

"It is a great bit of driving and we are all very proud of him."
