Rally Isle of Man organisers have responded to the event's removal from the 2010 Irish Tarmac Rally Championship.

Event Director Richard Bargery said: "We accept the reasons behind the decision, especially in the difficult financial climate.

"We're disappointed but remain committed to delivering an event next July of the highest quality."

The decision is due to be reviewed in 12 months time.

The Irish Tarmac Rally Championship announced on Sunday, that both Rally Isle of Man and the Jim Clark International Rally, based in Kelso, would be shelved for a year 'in light of economic conditions'.

The 2010 series will now drop from eight rounds to six, with all held within Ireland.
