Klaus Jakobsen took victory in the final heat to secure a draw at Newport |
A final-heat victory from Danish rider Klaus Jakobsen to secure a 44-44 draw at Newport on Sunday rounded off a good weekend for the Stoke Potters. Stoke trailed by four points going into the final race, but Jakobsen and Jason Bunyan crossed the line first to level the scores and give Stoke two points. On Saturday, the Potters kept up their impressive home record this season, beating Glasgow 50-42 at Loomer Road. They have still lost just once at home in the Premier League in 2009. Jesper Kristiansen scored 14 of Stoke's points on the night as the home side built on a solid start to claim victory. The Potters are back in action on Friday for their re-arranged Premier League fixture against the Edinburgh Monarchs at Armadale.
