Port Vale romped to victory over 10-man Grimsby with goals from Louis Dodds, Marc Richards, Gareth Owen and Lee Collins while also missing a penalty.
Dodds opened the scoring just before the break with a left-foot volley from six yards before Richards got a touch on Tommy Fraser's floated free-kick.
Danny Boshell's foul on Lewis Haldane saw him sent off but Marc Richards's spot kick was well saved by Lillis.
Owen headed home Fraser's corner for 3-0, with Collins completing the rout.
Port Vale manager Micky Adams told BBC Radio Stoke:
"The goal just before half time meant that Grimsby had to change their tactics slightly.
"Getting that first goal was really important to us, as it settled us down.
"It's a great feeling winning any game of football and at the minute we're on a bit of a run and confidence is high."
