Plymouth Devils got their defence of the National Trophy title off to a promising start with a 59-33 win over Mildenhall on Friday. Paul Starke, Mark Simmonds, Kyle Hughes and skipper Seemond Stephens were all on top form as the Devils won 12 of the 15 races. Mildenhall captain Barrie Evans and reserve Nick Laurence were the only winners for the visitors. The Devils are back in National Trophy action on Saturday against Weymouth. The match at the Wessex Stadium starts at 1915 BST on Saturday, 5 September.
