Mildenhall lose North to injury

Dakota North
North only rode twice for the Fen Tigers but made an immediate impact

Mildenhall Fen Tigers have lost the services of Australian rider Dakota North for the rest of the season after learning he suffered a back injury.

The 19-year-old was hurt after crashing while riding for an Australasian Under-21 team against Great Britain.

North initially thought he had suffered bruising but further tests have revealed broken bones in his back.

Mildenhall boss John Adams said: "This is a massive blow for us and the lad, we wish him the best in his recovery."

"He has real talent and has been a pleasure to work with."

North made an instant impact on his arrival at West Row with double-figure scores in the two meetings he rode for the Fen Tigers.
