Ipswich Town manager Roy Keane has challenged striker Pablo Counago to fight for a first-team place after he rejected a move to Swansea City.
Keane agreed a fee with the Swans but Counago rejected the offer.
"I've no problem with Pablo staying and fighting for his place here," Keane told the club's website.
"He knows I'm looking to bring in one or two new strikers so he'll have to battle for his place and hopefully we will see him up for the challenge."
Keane also revealed he has rejected an offer for young striker Jordan Rhodes.
The 19-year-old scored in a pre-season friendly against Colchester United on Saturday.
Keane said: "We did turn down one offer for him but he's in the group on merit.
"As much as I take feedback from my staff, I judge players with what I see with my own eyes and he couldn't do a lot more at the moment."
