Swindon extend Elite League lead

Alun Rossiter
Swindon are attempting to win their first title since 1967

Swindon made it eight Elite League wins in a row with a comfortable 55-37 home victory over Ipswich.

Simon Stead and Matej Zagar each scored a paid 14 as the Robins opened up a four-point lead over Wolverhampton.

Leigh Adams, Travis McGowan and Cory Gathercole all chipped in well and manager Alun Rossiter was pleased.

"All the boys did exceptionally well," he told BBC Wiltshire. "We've got Wolverhampton breathing down our neck and the goal is top spot."

The win maintained Swindon's perfect home record in league meetings.

"I'm really pleased for them all. We've got to keep plugging away, we can't be complacent."

Earlier in the week Rossiter's team won at Eastbourne and now travel to Belle Vue on Monday night.
