Lincolnshire's Steve Plater moved back to the top of the British Supersport Championship after victory in round five at Snetterton on Sunday. Starting third on the grid for HM Plant Honda, Plater passed Billy McConnell for the lead on lap nine before the race was red-flagged on lap 13. With McConnell retiring from the race, Plater leads the series by 23 points. He said: "That was a perfect result for me, to not just win but to get maximum points so I now lead the championship." Boston's Ben Wilson finished eighth on the Gearlink Kawasaki and Sam Lowes 13th for Astro Honda, but his team-mate and fellow Lincoln rider Lee Jackson failed to finish. In the British Superbike Championship Josh Brookes had his best results for HM Plant Honda with a pair of third places, while his team-mate Glen Richards was eighth in race two after retiring from race one. Louth's Peter Hickman took 17th and 15th in the two races on board the Ultimate Racing Yamaha. Series leader Leon Camier claimed both victories for Airwaves Yamaha.
