Australian Ward began the season riding as a reserve |
Darcy Ward has moved up to the number one slot in the King's Lynn Stars team after a blistering start to the season. The 17-year-old's average is now 9.21 and moves him above team captain Tomas Topinka who falls back to slot five. Stars team manager Rob Lyon said: "Tomas now gets three rides paired with a reserve, that works out well for us because he is the master of team riding "It meaned our two newest riders, Darcy and Linus [Eklof] will ride as a pair which should be exciting to watch." The new line-up will race for the first time in Wednesday's Premier League meeting against Sheffield Tigers at the Norfolk Arena as the Stars look to climb to second in the early-season table. Popular former King's Lynn rider Chris Mills returns to his old club, meaning the Tigers should have enough experience around the track to make for some exciting racing.
