Ward won the Australian Under-21 Championship in the winter

Darcy Ward underlined his potential with a 20 point maximum haul for King's Lynn in a 38-54 win at Scunthorpe.

The Stars got off to a flying start with three 5-1 heat wins and a 4-2 in the opening five races.

An early tactical ride for the home side reduced the deficit in heat six, but Ward and Chris Schramm helped Lynn to a 14-point lead after heat nine.

Schramm was beaten only once, by Scunthorpe's David Howe. Lynn now lead Premier Trophy South by five points.
