Scott Nicholls celebrating Coventry's 2007 treble success
Scott Nicholls has said he could extend his stay at Coventry Bees beyond the month that has initially been agreed.
Nicholls has been drafted in as cover for Olly Allen, who is currently sidelined with a broken leg.
The former Coventry skipper made the decision not to race in the Elite League this year but a poor start to his season has forced a rethink.
"We'll see how the month goes and what my options are at the end," Nicholls told BBC Coventry & Warwickshire.
"I'm not making myself out to be some sort of hero because it's certainly helping me as well so we're helping each other."
Nicholls, who captained Bees to their 2007 treble, has already featured in one meeting at Brandon, weighing in with 10 points in the bank holiday victory over another former club Ipswich Witches.
He quit British speedway in November to focus on the Grand Prix series.
