Phillips to leave Stoke Potters

Glen Phillips
Phillips rode for the Isle of Wight Islanders last season

Stoke Potters rider Glen Phillips has been told by the club he has no future at Loomer Road.

The 26-year-old former British Masters Grasstrack Champion has under-performed since his switch from the Isle of Wight Islanders in February.

Club promoter Dave Tattum told BBC Radio Stoke: "Glen doesn't seem to be at home with Stoke Speedway.

"We've spoken to him and have decided he won't do it for us and will have to be moved on."

Phillips has recently been at the centre of controversy after he was penalised for riding against Somerset and Scunthorpe without providing a medical certificate.

He subsequently had his points docked for both meetings.

Stoke Potters return to Premier Trophy action on Wednesday evening when they travel to the Birmingham Brummies at Perry Barr.
