Plato is one of the most successful touring car drivers in the UK |
Touring car driver Jason Plato says he has not given up hope of competing in this year's British Championship despite having being without a team. Plato, whose former team Seat withdrew from the competition, will compete in the first race at Brands Hatch on April 5th in a privately-entered Chevrolet. "I love touring cars, it's part of my brand", Plato told BBC Oxford. "I have a requirement to be on the grid for fans and sponsors. We have to try everything to make that happen." He added: "We have been successful for this weekend and I am very hopeful that the conversations we are having with our commercial partners will allow us to be on the grid for the rest of the year."
