Priaulx says the FIA must act to make the WTCC more equal
Guernsey's former World Touring Car champion Andy Priaulx says he is worried about the competitiveness of the championship.
Priaulx's petrol-driven BMW was well off the pace set by the the diesel-powered Seat cars in Brazil last week.
And he fears for the championship if the FIA does not act.
"Diesel [cars] dominated last year and they'll dominate again this year. It's down to the FIA to try to equalise the championship," he told BBC Guernsey.
And as he prepares for the second meeting of the season in Mexico this weekend, Priaulx says he must ensure that he drives as well as he can and set aside last week's disappointment.
"I came away really positive. I know the results weren't brilliant. But I've got to separate results with performance and I was very happy with my performance.
"If you're driving at the very best capabilities of the car they can see that and then they know [the difference] is technical. That's what I have to achieve at the moment," he added.
The meeting at Puebla begins with qualifying on Saturday before two races on Sunday.
