Adam Carroll is facing a "sponsorship crisis" that may force him to quit GP2 mid-season, according to his team boss. The Northern Irishman challenged hot favourite Heikki Kovalainen early in the season before a bad run saw him drop off the title pace.
But Super Nova chief David Sears said: "Adam faces a sponsorship crisis in his quest to finish the season."
Carroll has impressed in his rookie year at GP2 level, helping him earn a long-term Formula One deal with BAR.
He was ninth in the first race at Hungary on Saturday, with the second race to come on Sunday morning.
