Adam Carroll is now 10 points behind leader Heikki Kovalainen

Northern Ireland's Adam Carroll fought his way up from 21st on the grid to finish second in the GP2 sprint race at the Nurburgring on Sunday.

Carroll is now 10 points behind leader Heikki Kovalainen in the standings.

After failing to finish Saturday's race, the Super Nova driver squeezed through to finish second as Clivio Piccione took his first victory.

Reigning British Formula Three champion Nelson Piquet junior was third ahead of Nico Rosberg.
