Carroll slumps to fourth in the GP2 series after a pointless weekend |
Northern Ireland's Adam Carroll suffered a major setback to his GP2 series hopes when he left Silverstone without scoring points in either race. Carroll was 21st in Saturday's first race, finishing two laps behind winner Nico Rosberg after his car spun and then sustained a puncture.
He was eighth in the second race which was won by Olivier Pla.
Carroll's pointless weekend sees him slip to fourth in the series, 30 points behind leader Heikki Kovalainen.
Kovalainen finished third in race two and now enjoys a 20-point cushion over second-placed Nico Rosberg, who was fourth.
Scotland's Ryan Sharp, Pla's team-mate, failed to finish both races, as did Nelson Piquet junior.
