| |  Thursday, 16 November, 2000, 17:31 GMT The 1980s in pictures  Figure skater Robin Cousins receives the trophy from John Arlott in 1980. Cousins was the second skater to win the award.  Steve Cram receives the trophy in 1983 from Bobby Charlton. Cram had won the world 1500m title.  Torvill and Dean won in 1984 - the only time two people have won the award. In 1982 and 1983 they had won the team award.  Fatima Whitbread shows off the trophy in 1987. She had won javelin gold at the World Championships. | |
