Fisher faded away in the final day at the Open for a second year in a row |
Surrey's Ross Fisher failed to make a final day move up the Open field as he slumped to a forgettable closing 74. That left the Cheam-based 29-year-old tied for 37th - and Fisher admitted that another final-day Open flop was a big disappointment. "I'm disappointed to shoot two over," he told BBC Sport. "But conditions this week have been tough and the final day pin positions were very tough. "And, although I played decently, I did not get the breaks when I needed them." Fisher, who led the Open early on the final day at Turnberry last year before fading to 13th, now plans to take the week off. He will then play the Irish Open, before heading off to the States to for the WGC at Akron and the USPGA at Whistling Straits in Wisconsin.
