McIlroy is 12 shots off the pace after two rounds |
Rory McIlroy remains in last place at the 12-player Nedbank Challenge in South Africa after struggling to a four-over-par 76 in the second round. The 20-year-old from Holywood got off to a poor start with a double-bogey and three bogeys in his first five holes. A double-bogey at the eighth was followed by an eagle at the next and McIlroy finished on five over, two shots adrift at the bottom. South Africa's Retief Goosen leads on seven under at Sun City. McIlroy started Friday's round sharing bottom spot with Nick Watney and Ross Fisher. Birdies at the 14th and 16th spared McIlroy from being further behind. Angel Cabrera, Henrik Stenson and Robert Allenby are in a tie for second on six under.
