Barham has never won on the European Tour

Benn Barham will go into next week's European Tour qualifying school confident he will return to the Tour.

Barham finished outside the top 115 needed to retain his Tour card so will play at tour school starting next week.

Thirty places are available for next year's tour and Barham regards himself as one of the top 30 in the field.

He told BBC Radio Kent: "I nearly won a tournament two months ago so I feel I shouldn't really be at tour school but I haven't played well enough."

He continued: "Bearing in mind I have been competing in tournaments for the last three years, there was some success.

"I feel I'm playing OK. The last part of the season's been better, I've been working hard and will do until tour school.

"I can play well and I think I have the game to play on the Tour. It's all down to me, I got into this mess so I will get out of it."
