Jersey's Sam Crenan had a final day to forget at the English Boys Open Amateur Golf Championships. The Royal Jersey Golf Club player shot two rounds of 80 on Thursday to finish 37th overall on 19 over par at Liverpool's Wallasey Club. It left the 17-year-old 19 shots behind winner Stiggy Hodgson, who beat Frederick Kollevold on the fifth hole of a play-off to take the title. Crenan started well and had been joint fifth after the first day. He dropped to 19th overall after the second day's round. Crenan, who is the island junior captain, got to the final of the Jersey Matchplay Golf Championships in June.
