American teenager Paula Creamer shot a third-round 66 to take a seven-stroke lead in the Evian Masters on Friday.

The 18-year-old collected seven birdies in total and is now 14 under par for the tournament.

Britain's Laura Davies, who shot a 70, is tied for second with France's Karine Icher, who went round in 68.

World number one Annika Sorenstam is in fourth on six under after a 72, while 15-year-old Michelle Wie moved into the top ten on three under after a 68.

Creamer says she now just has to stay patient as she chases her second professional win.

"I'm going to think that we're all starting at zero and just play my own game," she said.

"I've played with Laura before, so I know that I'll be out-hit from the tee, but it certainly feels great to have a seven-shot lead.

"I actually didn't hit the ball so well today," she said. "But I stayed patient and the putts started to drop."

Davies, who won the event in 1995 and 1996, admitted: "Paula is going to be hard to catch, but it's the sort of course where you can make up the numbers.

"It will be fun to chase her."
