Ulster's Brian McElhinney has claimed a place in the final of the British Amateur Championship at Royal Birkdale. The North-West player secured a one hole victory over 16-year-old Oliver Fisher of West Essex in Friday afternoon's semi-finals.
McElhinney will face Swanston's John Gallagher in Saturday's decider over 36 holes at the British Open venue.
Dunmurry's Darren Crowe was beaten by two holes at the quarter-final stage by Lloyd Saltman of Craigelaw.
Gallagher secured a showdown with McElhinney after a one hole success against Saltman.
Twenty-four-year-old Gallagher plays with a cack-handed grip.
In Friday's semi-finals, Gallagher beat Lloyd Saltman while McElhinney ended 16-year-old Oliver Fisher's dream of becoming the youngest-ever winner.
The winner will earn a place at July's Open and next year's US Masters.
Gallagher has always played cack-handed since taking up the sport as a youngster.
