Dunmurry's Darren Crowe had to settle for second place in the Irish Amateur Open Championship on Sunday as Richard Ramsay of Scotland won by two strokes. Irish international Crowe had led by three strokes going into the final day on the O'Meara Course at Carton GC.
But the Queen's University graduate could only manage a closing 73 compared to Ramsay's 68.
Holywood teenager Rory McIlroy had his best round of the tournament, his 67 lifting him up to a sixth-place finish.
