Davies is determined to make her ninth Solheim Cup team |
Laura Davies would love to add the Austrian Open crown to her trophy collection - but her priority this week will be to secure Solheim Cup points. Davies has not won in Wiener Neustadt, but though she lies second in the cup standings she is desperate to ensure she faces the Americans in September.
"I don't want (Solheim skipper) Catrin (Nilsmark) to even have to consider me as a pick," England's Davies said.
"There's lot of good players now and there's no way I'm guaranteed a pick."
The 2005 Solheim Cup will be held between 9-11 September at Crooked Stick Golf Club in Indiana.

And Davies, who has played in eight of the transatlantic cup clashes, added: "I don't want to miss it.
"The first time I don't get into the Solheim Cup will be a very sad day."
The 41-year-old arrives at the Austrian event, which runs from Thursday to Sunday, in good form having tied third in her last tournament, the Chick Fil-A Charity Championship.
Also in action will be Davies' fellow 2003 Solheim Cup team-mates Elisabeth Esterl, Iben Tinning and Ana Belen Sanchez.
Tinning won her third professional Ladies European Tour title last week at the Open de Espana and the Dane is closing in on Davies in the cup standings, which are headed by Swede Annika Sorenstam.
