Matthew is performing consistently well in America |
Catriona Matthew is aiming to extend her good run of form in the Chick-fil-A Charity Championship in Atlanta. The Scot has risen to a career-high of number five on the money list after finishing joint third three weeks in a row on the LPGA Tour.
"This is a course where I've performed well in the last and I always enjoy coming back," said Matthew.
England's Laura Davies won the title in 1995, and Wales' Becky Morgan finished joint second last year.
The 30-year-old, who has finished in the top 30 on the money list for the past two seasons, hopes this week will kick-start a disappointing season.
"My golf has been very poor," admitted Morgan, who has only made two cuts from six starts and is down at 120th on the rankings.
"But this is a course that always seems to suit my game and this was where I really got my going last year so I hope it is the same."
World number one Annika Sorenstam, whose run of five straight victories on tour came to an end at last week's Michelob Ultra Open, heads the field and will be aiming to repeat her win in 2001.
