John Daly claimed his first PGA Tour victory since the 1995 Open with a stunning play-off win at the Buick Invitational. Daly birdied the first extra hole to prevail over fellow American Chris Riley and England's Luke Donald.
Riley and Donald both missed birdie putts from within six feet of the hole.
But Daley, who had sent his second into a bunker, hit a stunning shot from 96 feet to within six inches and tapped in for victory.
All three players had finished on 10 under par after Riley and Donald both birdied the 18th to card 69s, while Daly could only muster a par. The trio then played the 18th again in the play-off.

Daly, who had led by a shot at the start of the day, looked to have blown his chances by firing a three-over-par 75. But his aggressive style ultimately paid off at the first extra hole as he sent a three-wood to the back of the green, while Riley and Donald both laid up.
Daley's inspirational bunker shot earned him $864,000 (460,000) - more than any single-season total during his 13-year career.
"It's a wonderful feeling to win again," Daly said. "It was just the sweetest victory.
"It's been a long, long time. I've won two majors, nothing can take that away, but I've never won a tournament that Tiger has been in the field.
Woods' worst
"That feels good. And this field this week was one of the strongest fields we can have."
Daly's fifth career title comes after nearly a decade of personal torment in which the 37-year-old has battled alcohol and weight problems.
Six players finished within a shot of the final trio - Thomas Bjorn, Shigeki Maruyama, Phil Mickelson, Jesper Parnevik, Bo Van Pelt and Duffy Waldorf all tying for fourth place.
Tiger Woods carded a final-round 69 to finish two shots back alongside five others.
Woods was in contention after getting to nine under after 10 holes, but dropped a shot and eventually had tied for 10th, his worst finish in seven appearances at the event.
