Els, who collected his fourth Wentworth crown by defeating Garcia on Sunday, will be going for his second Johnnie Walker Classic title when it takes place on 13-16 February. The South African was a winner in 1997 when the tournament was staged in Hope Island in Queensland, Australia. The $2.85m event will be held at Lake Karrinyup Country Club in Perth, Australia, for the second year in a row. Goosen will defend the title he won in style in 2002, when he triumphed by eight strokes from Pierre Fulke of Sweden, with Garcia a further shot behind. Tournament organisers said they are hopeful of attracting one more top-10 player to the field. England's Nick Faldo, who won the inaugural event in Hong Kong in 1990, has confirmed he will be participating in the tournament, which is sanctioned by the Australasian, European and Asian tours. |
