What more motivation do you need? |
Derby favourite Motivator has been given a pep talk by his namesake to try and gee him up for the big race.
Crazy keep-fit fanatic Mr Motivator, last seen on our screens urging people to get up early and do some exercise, has flown in from Jamaica to watch the horse in action.
He decided to get a feel for Epsom racecoure by attending Oaks day on Friday, turning up in a top hat and tails with trademark garish leotard underneath.
Mr Motivator, real name Derrick Evans, told the BBC's Angus Loughran: "I was sitting in Jamaica when someone called me and said there was a horse running called Motivator.
"So I immediately called the bookies and asked if they would take some money off me."
Mr Motivator flew in to Britain earlier this week and claims to have given a pep talk to both horse and jockey Johnny Murtagh.
He said: "I've had a good chat with the jockey. I told him 'You've got to take easy, stay on the left-hand side where the going's good for you'.
"I said to the horse: 'Hold back, don't get too agitated or too excited - save your energy till the end'.
"They were both listening, so Saturday will be their day."
