Women's Premier League leaders Sunderland trounced Portsmouth 7-2 in the FA Cup third round to avenge last month's League Cup defeat.
Reading won 5-3 at Gillingham and Nottingham Forest beat Leicester 4-2.
In the round's only all-Premier League clash Blackburn Rovers beat Leeds United on penalties after a 0-0 draw.
That meant Leeds were the only Premier League club to go out as Watford, Millwall Lionesses and Barnet all won against lower league opposition.
FA Women's Cup third round
Sunderland 7-2 Portsmouth
Pompey suffered a Black Cats backlash two weeks after knocking the League Cup favourites out of the competition.
Goals in the first four minutes by Keira Ramshaw and Natalie Gutteridge showed Sunderland's intent, although Lindsey Roe quickly reduced the arrears.
Demi Stokes restored the home side's two-goal advantage but again Pompey hit back, Gemma Wilson scoring an own goal on the half-hour.
After Gutteridge hit her second goal four minutes later, however, and the Black Cats stormed to victory with a powerful second-half performance.
Kelly McDougall's 47th-minute penalty was followed by Ramshaw's second goal of the game and a last-minute strike from substitute Jordan Atkinson.
Gillingham 3-5 Reading
Five goals in an incredible 12-minute spell midway through the second half swept Reading to victory after they had trailed 2-0.
Lauren Phillips scored for the Gills in the 15th and 50th minutes to line up what would have been a shock win for the Southern Division team.
But just after the hour Reading went goal crazy, Nicola Watts and Melissa Fletcher both scoring twice then captain Kelly Chambers netting the killer strike.
Natalie Crinean pulled a consolation goal back in the 75th minute.
Nottingham Forest 4-2 Leicester City
Forest had to come from behind after Natalie Reay had given their East Midlands rivals a fifth-minute lead.
Catherine Lawson equalised from a 10th-minute penalty, then goals by Suzanne Davies and Natalie Clarke early in the second half put the home side in command.
A 68th-minute penalty by Lauren Impey kept Leicester in the tie, but three minutes later Davies hit the fourth to assure Forest of victory.
Leeds United 0-0 Blackburn Rovers a.e.t. Blackburn won 5-4 on penalties
Goalkeeper Krystal Parker was the Blackburn hero, saving two spot-kicks to take her team through after a hard-fought contest had yielded no goals in 120 minutes.
Andover New Street 2-3 Watford
Two late goals by Sarah Wiltshire gave Watford victory over battling opponents who play in the Southern Region League, three levels below the top flight.
Kate Natkiel gave the Hornets a 20th-minute lead, but Kristine Wright equalised just before the hour and Catherine Browning put Andover ahead in the 73rd minute.
Wiltshire levelled the scores with five minutes remaining and then grabbed the winner as the tie was heading into stoppage time.
Sporting Club Albion 0-4 Millwall Lionesses
The Midland Combination side were no match for Millwall, who led 3-0 at the break through Dionne Lennon and a double strike by Shauni Griffith.
Midway through the second half Griffith completed her hat-trick to ensure the visitors of a place in the fourth round.
Loughborough Students 0-4 Barnet
Two goals by Jess Trimnell helped the Premier League's bottom club to a comfortable win against Midland Combination opposition.
