Arsenal beat Birmingham City 6-2 to move five points clear at the top of the Women's Premier League.

Everton moved to within a point of second-placed Chelsea, who did not have a fixture, with a convincing 3-1 win at Blackburn Rovers.

In the battle of the two bottom clubs Nottingham Forest twice came from behind to draw 2-2 with Liverpool.

The fixtures between Leeds Carnegie and Bristol Academy and Fulham against Watford also ended in draws.

Arsenal 6-2 Birmingham City

The scoreline belied a hard-fought contest as Arsenal incredibly scored three goals in stoppage time to wrap up victory.

The Gunners took a 15th-minute lead through Jayne Ludlow, but Becky Hall equalised immediately after the interval.

And after Gemma Davison had restored the home side's advantage in the 48th minute, Amy McCann brought the scores level for a second time just before the hour.

Two minutes later Julie Fleeting nudged the Gunners back in front, but Blues continued to battle until their resolve was finally broken in a long period of time added on.

Fleeting hit her second goal to effectively kill off the visitors, but for good measure Kim Little and Davison also found the net.

Blackburn Rovers 1-3 Everton

Second half goals by Amy Kane and Natasha Dowie ensured Everton of victory after Karen Burke had equalised Rachel Unitt's opener for the visitors.

Leeds Carnegie 1-1 Bristol Academy

Carla Cantrell gave Leeds a 39th-minute lead with her first goal for the club following her summer move from Doncaster Belles.

But 22 minutes into the second half Kerry Bartlett struck her fourth goal of the campaign to earn Bristol a point.

Nottingham Forest 2-2 Liverpool

Forest grabbed their first point of the season despite producing their poorest league performance to date.

Lauren Cresswell cancelled out Gill Hart's early Liverpool goal, then after Cheryl Foster had shot the visitors back in front Natalie Clarke hit a late equaliser.

Fulham 0-0 Watford

Fulham ended a scrappy encounter with a draw that kept them one point above the relegation zone.
