Megan Harris scored the Lady Imps' final goal of the season
Lincoln City Ladies chairman Geoff Adams says the club will bounce back from missing out on promotion to the Women's Premier League.
Lincoln were pipped to the Northern Division title by Nottingham Forest on a dramatic final day of the season.
The Lady Imps started in pole position but lost 2-1 to Sunderland while Forest beat Sheffield Wednesday 5-1.
Adams said: "It was a fantastic season but unfortunately it had a sting in the tail.
"We want to keep the squad together and if we do we can go up next year."
Lincoln captain Megan Harris admitted Forest were worthy champions after an undefeated season.
"Fair play to them, you can't grumble really," she said. "Obviously we're gutted, it is quite hard to take but they have gone unbeaten so they deserve to go up."
