Amica Wronki 5-0 TNS
Former League of Wales champions TNS have a mountain to climb after losing 5-0 in the first leg of their Uefa Cup qualifying round to KS Amica Wronki.

"We're building a new professional team and, at the moment, you could compare us to a small child," said TNS assistant coach John Carole.

"Amica could have scored more goals and we will have to go home and take a good look at what happened. We can't play against teams like Amica at the moment."

TNS managed to hold their Polish hosts to a single goal in the first half, Jaroslaw Bieniuk striking in the 35th minute, but the floodgates opened after the break.

Jacek Dembinski doubled Amica's lead in the 59th minute, before Grzegorz Krol put the match beyond the visitors with another goal five minutes later.

Pride

However, as the part-timers from Llansantffraid tired, Tomasz Dawidowski almost certainly put the tie beyond TNS with two more goals in the last eight minutes.

Dawidowski then spoilt his good work by getting sent off for serious foul play just before the final whistle, fouling Tommy Holmes.

TNS must now pick themselves up for their League of Wales season opener at home to Rhyl on Saturday, before trying to salvage some pride against Amica in the second leg in a fortnight.

"This result should guarantee that we qualify, but the first half was weak," said Amica coach Miroslaw Jablonski.

"When you play a team like Llansantffraid, you have to organise your game and the chances will come."
