York City manager Martin Foyle has praised the versatility of new forward Kevin Gall after his debut in the 3-2 victory over Chester on Tuesday.
The 27-year-old, who was released by Darlington last month, was signed as a replacement for winger Craig Nelthorpe, who has joined Barrow on loan.
Foyle told BBC Radio York: "He just gives us a little bit extra. He can play in the front line.
"He (Gall) was a little bit rusty, but he can play out wide."
"I've given Craig Nelthorpe the opportunity to play some games that he's been craving for," he said.
"So it's one in one out but hopefully I will try and bring somebody else in because I still feel that we need it."
Gall has also played for Bristol Rovers, Yeovil, Carlisle, Lincoln and Port Vale.
